Day 46 – Getting My New VA and Subscribe To Terry’s Backlink Package
I had plans to engage a VA to help me with all those backlinking activities but didn’t push on only after reading Michelle’s blog post on Adventures in Outsourcing and realise how tied up and how little time I have. If I chose to do all these time consuming backlinking activities, I hardly left with time for researching and setting up sites – vice versa. I am even guilty of not filling my daily quota for my BBP submission. Even I chose to do backlinks all day long, I am still not able to cover my portfolio of sites. At this stage, it’s difficult to achieve my goals of $50 a day by Sep.
So I posted a job offer in Getafreelancer.com yesterday and eventually short listed 2. I gave them a 7 days trial period. During 7 days period, they are supposed to work 40 hours and I am paying them $40. At the end of the 7 days period, I will only be keeping one. Basically I spend the whole day showing them profile link, edu link, BBP, BLS, UAW, creating web 2.0, etc.
Beside that, we had agreed on a set of Standard of Performance, such as reporting time, during the working hour they must be online and reachable. If they need to go off for meals or break they must have the courteous to inform me. And end of the day the kind of report I am expecting etc. I am excepting to hold their hands for another couple of days before they can be on their own.
With the help of VA, I am able to be more systematically backlinking my sites. In such a way the link velocity would seems more natural. As mention on pervious post, I had plan out a backlinking schedule for Micro Niche site, which include how many, what kind of links to do in a chart like this
| Means | Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 |
| UAW | 16 | 32 | 32 | 32 | 40 | 40 | 45 | |
| BBP | 16 | 32 | 32 | 32 | 40 | 40 | 45 | |
| BLS | 0 | 0 | 32 | 32 | 40 | 40 | 45 | |
| EDU | 3 | 6 | 6 | 8 | 10 | |||
| Profile Link | 16 | 32 | 64 | 100 | 120 | 120 | ||
| Web 2.0 | 6 | 8 | 10 | 12 | ||||
| Press release | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | ||||
| video sites | 3 | 6 | 6 | 8 | ||||
| article sites | 5 | 10 | 12 | 14 | ||||
I had also subscribed to Terry’s backlink package. With 400 sites a month, I think they will be more then enough to keep my VA busy for a while. Now I have 6-7 programs I subscribed to for building my backlinks. Sara from noteworthytips.com blogged about how tempting that will be when John posted on a forum saying to forget about all backlinks programs and just stick to article marketing and I totally have to agreed but doubt that will work. Anyway I have niche that an Xfactor style of site is ahead of me. Checking the YSE backlinks, they are all article marketing. As for my site, I had send BLS and already assigned to my VA for the other mean of backlinks. Lets see will my method outrank his.
Day 45 Adsense sales had been rather down, Only manage to do $11.57. Day 46 slightly better $16.88. Nothing from Amazon except for a sale on day 45. That’s a lesser then a dollar product, I think only make a few cents on it. Well better then nothing.

Your hiring strategy sounds excellent, as does your back linking schedule. Hopefully one of your VA trainees will really stand out and do a superb job this week! I found that my VA generally does the work a bit more slowly than I would like, but she does do a really good job at what she does. (I think I may have also overestimated what can be reasonably done in eight hours as well). Right now I have her doing mainly profile links, since I absolutely despise doing those, along with my daily Blog Blueprint submissions and it is good to know that despite what I’m doing – at least some back links are being built! Good luck and keep us informed on how it goes. By the way, how was your experience with freelancer.com?

Yeh I hope so (crossing my fingers). I hate profile link building too, even though there are tons of testimony that it works, but I am just too not motivated to do those. I had been using GAF for 2-3 years now. I didn’t use the rest so I can’t really comment how they compare. I think most of the freelancers listed themselves in all the other sites as well. But personally I am happy with them. I do get good helpers like my coder, designer and writers. Some of them had been working for me for 2 years. When it comes to dispute with the providers, as long as we follow the TOS, usually buyer will be protected.

Great move to outsource these tasks – it really does take a whole load off you when you know you’ve got someone constantly working on backlinks for you.

Yes Ruth, I remember Michael Gerber of ‘E-myth for Business’ ever said that we should work ‘on’ our business instead of working ‘in’ our business. If we continue doing all the daily tasks such as link backlinking and content writing, then we’ll forever be trapped doing them and never free up the time to work ‘on’ our business which are looking for new niche, setting up new sites. These are activities that cannot be outsourced.
