Day 60 – How I Make Money With Amazon

I got an extraordinary day for my Amazon sales the day before. Record 19 sales and revenue worth about $300-$400 was made on that single day. I should have made $24 commission on that day it self, highest sales in a day so far. Month to date I am about $2 shy from $100. This make up 1/6 of my total income for the month of May. So far my Amazon conversion rate is around 5%. Nothing to shout about, which think it quite normal across the industry.

I got a total of 900 plus clicks which were generated by my Micro Niche product based sites and my one and only Amazon sniper site. Actually I have 2. The second is still dancing around page 6-8. So looking at it if I want to make a 10 times of what I am doing now, I need 10 times more site from my current that make up 600 sites!

I was asked how I set up my Amazon site. I didn’t really specifically build sites for Amazon only but rather, I add Amazon affiliate link to almost all my Micro niche product based sites. Basically is make it doesn’t look too much like a MFA site. Secondly hope to make additional revenue. There were advises that no other kind of affiliate links should be present if Ad$ense is what you are targeting, It will dilute the effectiveness of the Adsense blocks and gave visitor an ‘escape path’ who left without clicking.

I usually place 3 Amazon links to my site. One is the picture/product link. Second link is right after my post. I usually bolded and write something like “Click here to check out the latest Blue suede shoe offers in Amazon now!” And lastly, on the side I add an Omakase widget banner. As for my Amazon sniper site, I completely leave out Adsense ads and the rest remains the same except an additional customize banner right before the article. Now here you have it – my Amazon sniper site template. I might had missed out some details, do feel free to drop me a comment if you need clarification.

Quick update on my profile link backlinking, so far none of the sites had re-appeared yet. I am into my second day solely building edu links for backlinks for a couple of my site, so far they are still there. I believe the links had not been discovered yet. So in another 3 day or so, we can have a better idea.

The change of setting for my Ad$ense account does cause some mixed feeling. The last 2 days, both my CTR and eCPM had dropped lower then my usual average after surging 100% more then the day before. Two days good, 3 days bad and two more days to trial.

The last two days were $10.92 and $13.70 respectively. Luckily got a good Amazon day so more or less had cushioned my sales a bit. So looking at my forecast for May I had set in the beginning of May, I should be able to achieve it by tomorrow.

  • I went back and re-did mine to kind of match Dave’s sites. I am going to watch these for a little while just to see how they convert. I have 3 amazon sites right now. I am going to work on adsen3e sites till I get up to 25, then I would like to build more Amazon sites.

I have been thinking about putting the 2 affiliates together. Just to see how this pans out, but I do not know yet.

Great post BTW-it is nice to see how other people create their sites.

  • Thanks for the info on how you build Amazon sites – I had heard people saying you shouldn’t combine both types of programs too but I might go back and add Amazon to my micro niche sites too, give it a try.
