Day 65 – Mayday Mayham Or A Blessing In Disguise
Wrote abut the G dance yesterday and guess what happen, my Ad$en$e earning was the lowest I ever had in the past 5 months. $4.85.. My ad impression had dropped drastically – less then half from my usual. Well it seems that I am not the only, there are many chatters from the members in WF and many other communities especially in the recent 48 hours. Seems like the Googl3 Mayday has taken effective.
Well I think Micro niche sites might not be like what they use to be – immediately rank in SERP even though the exact match keyword domain. Building backlinks will be more important now then before. I believe adding more quality content is also more important now. Guess that after setting up the new 20 sites, I have to go back to add more content for my existing sites.
Guess nothing much can be done at this moment. Let’s wait and see for another couple days and try to figure out which site did better and which one had dropped in SERP. Luckily still got a $3 commission from Amazon.
What about your sites? Are there any drastic movement?
Here is a video that explained a bit about it,

Had my worst AdSense day in MONTHS yesterday (less than $2), but I’m not panicking. Went through my keyword lists today, and I’m still ranking well (or even better) for most of my keyword terms. Not getting much traffic from random long tail keyword phrases anymore, however, but my page impressions are not off that much. Mostly, saw a drop in pay per click over the weekend, not a dramatic drop in traffic or clicks. I’m thinking this may mean I need to work even hard to get in the top spots for the keywords I’m trying to work for – since I won’t be getting as much traffic from those I’m not working for. ClickBank and Amazon doing better for me in the past few days, as well, which speaks to the importance of diversifying your income streams!

Glad that your keywords are still ranking well, a portion of mine had gone missing. Innocently I had thought that the site went missing because I use profile links, so this is a part of a bigger conspiracy..BTW can you point to me where I can learn a good system on selling clickbank products?

Well, I haven’t used any system myself – I just the same basic tools and techniques for optimizing landing pages as I use with AdSense and Amazon sites (finding good keywords and then work on ranking those pages through content and backlinks). I know that Mike Iser used G. Brown’s “sniper” system for his ClickBank sites (although he abandoned those after a while). Building landing pages and doing a successful “soft sell” approach is a little bit different than what I do with AdSense sites, and is something I’m still improving, but I’m not sure you need to buy a system to learn these things. But if you find a good one, though, let me know!

Thanks Michelle, guess the best thing to do now is really to diversify not only in terms of business model, but also the traffic avenue.

I don’t have as high earnings as yours so it’s harder for me to tell whether this has impacted me. It seems my Adsense has been down for the last three days, but sometimes this happens anyway. Last time I checked my rankings (Friday) they were still good but I will have to check again. From what I see, the drop can come mainly from those random long-tails which of course I don’t get much of in my newest blogs, but I do get quite a few for for some of my old sites which don’t sell that well anyway.
Anyway, I am a little nervous but still plugging away as content is always going to be important. We know Google will always love content so I guess we’ve just got to keep adding quality blog posts!
