Day 66 – Ploughing On After G Mayday Aftermath
Three days had passed and for the last two days the CTR and eCPM had more or less return back to the same as before the Mayday. As for the ad impressions, they had been at 50% lower the before. Made $10.73 – at least in two digits. My Amazon sales also had been rather quiet these two days.
Till now there isn’t clear indication what works and what doesn’t for Micro niche sites. For example the site that I set up a couple of days ago, is now on page 2. If the new algorithm is after business model like ours then why is my new site still performing as usual?
Any way, I don’t think anyone really has an answer now. So I think instead of being in limbo and worry too much, the best thing to do now is continue ploughing on. I will be continue to set up my new sites that I had planned for June. Beside that, extreme situation asking for extreme measures, I will at the same time beside putting up my Ad$en$e sites, I will also diversify my monetization and traffic source. I am in the mid of setting up a new site based on a product I saw in Clickbank. This is a niche that I have interest in but I don’t really have any idea how to promote affiliate products, so I guess this will be a rather good opportunity for me to explore this business model.
The traffic for this site will not be from SERP, but I will still try to rank the keywords as much as possible. Competing wise they are mostly yellow in SOC and MOB of around 100. URL wise, I am choosing a 3 words domain with suffix. I am launching it with 5 pages content, 1 product review plus the privacy statement and contact us page. I am lining up 20 articles for article directory. But I am still contemplating between Ezine, Goarticle and Hubpage.
I will be also involving in contributing to relevant blogs, forums and various networks. The template wise I will either create on from Artisteer or maybe one from Elegance Theme. Articles and website will be boasted by my Systemic Backlinking Approach. Now all articles had been out source I think in a few days time they will be ready and I will continue to update the process in my blog.
Lastly for those who are effected by G mayday, dig in and don’t loss faith. Remember, when one door closes the other will open.

I think you hit the nail on the head. No one has an answer right now. Some sites are still ranking fine and some aren’t. The 3 sites I have actually improved in the rankings and I have no idea why.

Yea, I am getting tired of all the guesswork and worry.
Hubpages is great for getting a quality back link to your micro niche sites. One of my xfactor sites is held strong at #1 and it only has back links coming from hubpages. Its ideal to do ezine submissions as well but Hubpages seems to be passing on some link love.

Beside more Hubpages and articles directory pages are ranking, I had also had received a few Adsense clicks from my Hubpages. Usually that comes once in a blue moon but now had be more recent now a day.

I am taking the same attitude to just carry on instead of stopping and worrying. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, but we’ll do better if we carry on than if we stop.
